Operation Christmas Child
A big THANK YOU to all students and staff who helped make OCC a success at the University of Liverpool!
We collected 107 boxes, which will be delivered to children in Nairobi, Kenya this Christmas!
Students and staff showed their generosity by bringing in colourful shoeboxes filled with toys, candy, school items and toiletries. For those who didn't have all of the items but still wanted to participate, the English Society held shoebox clinics where students could make boxes together at Faith Express. During the clinics, we listened to Christmas music and drank hot cocoa to get into the holiday spirit.
Staff also particpated in OCC in groups. The library staff and the Guild staff among others pooled their resources to make this year's total an impressive one.
The shipping containers will be going out this week, and the boxes will be distributed through Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund. http://www.streetfamiliestrustfund.org/index.html
